We'll be gone for 8 days, flying into Venice, and taking trains to Florence, the Cinque Terre, Pisa, and ending up in Rome.
I plan on taking lots of pictures and eating lots of good food, and maybe buying some special Italian something-or-other! (I've always wanted a something -or-other! Haven't you?)
how exciting! you'll love italy. grant and i went there about 3 years ago, and i want to go back! venice was definitely my favorite, with florence being a close 2nd. the historical sites in rome are unforgettable, but rome as a city, in my opinion, wasn't that great. i feel like i'm typing way too much, but i get very excited about italy! when you go to pisa, you should make a trip (if you have a rental car?) to lucca, about 20 minutes outside the city. one of the oldest walled-cities still in existence. very quaint, very cute, very non-touristy. okay...i'm done.
ReplyDeleteI so envy you and Dave having this opportunity to see Italy and then Greece. The chance of a lifetime.
